Preparing For Your Cleanse

Congratulations!  If you've read this far that means you've made the choice to do something positive for you and start a Go Wild Cleanse!  Taking the time to prepare your body for cleansing will set you up to succeed.  Taking a few days to pre-cleanse will help to ease detox symptoms and make your juicing experience a happy one.  Trust Us - We've been doing this for a long time.  I vividly remember my first cleanse 25 years ago, and the huge impact it had on my life!  If you do it right ~Juicing works!


From our own personal experience, we recommend taking the same number of days you are cleansing to prep yourself.  So if you are doing a 3 day cleanse, we encourage you to take 3 days to prepare by eliminating the following from your diet:  Dairy, Wheat, Meat, Sugar, Alcohol, White Table Salt, Coffee (*WE KNOW this can be a hard one!  If possible switch to a hot green tea.)


Now is the time to increase your water intake and find all those incredible fruits and vegetables you forgot you loved.  If you are having trouble thinking of healthy choices for your pre-cleanse days ~ Just Ask Us!  We are more than happy to share what has worked for us and give you some ideas to make the transition an easy one.


It's Cleanse Time

Woohoo!  You are on the Day 1 High!  We've specially designed and numbered your juices to provide you the greatest cleanse benefit.  Try to drink a juice about every two hours to help maintain an optimal energy level.


You'll want to stay hydrated during your cleanse which can sound weird seeing how much juice you'll be consuming.  Some find they feeled chilled while cleansing (especially here in Alaska!) so your favorite herbal caffeine-free tea should have you feeling warm in no time!     


Detoxing is part of the cleansing process!  It's hard to say what symptoms you'll experience because everyone is different. We've gathered a list below of some of the most common past cleansers have experienced.  These symptoms are normal and shouldn't cause alarm.  You may or may not expereriece the following:


  • Tired

  • Hungry

  • Weak

  • Dizziness

  • Skin Break Outs

  • Insomnia

  • Body odor

  • Headaches

  • Flu or Cold Like symptoms

  • Frequent Trips To The Restroom

  • Gas and/or Bloating


This cleanse is all about you!  Note how you feel and take time to relax and rest.  


Here are some positive things you can do for you during this juice cleanse to help:


  • Take Naps

  • Get a Massage

  • Try Dry Skin Brushing - helps stimulate lymphatic flow

  • Drink Warm Herbal Teas - Peppermint, Rooibos, Chamomile, Dandelion Root

  • Walk

  • Take a Bath (Add Some Essential Oils)

  • Exercise (Lower Your Intensity) 

  • Yoga


One of the most frequent questions we get asked is "Can I still have my morning coffee?"  to which we kindly reply "Sorry - No"!  If you find you absolutely can't survive without it - this is your cleanse and we can't stop you; but we'd highly recommend having it black with nothing added. 


If you find yourself constantly thinking about eating and food  -- try eating an apple or celery to help satisfy that urge.


You Made It - Now What?

Congrats!  You should feel pretty proud of yourself for finishing a cleanse!  It's not always easy doing good things for ourselves and most people find a juice cleanse to be a challenge, so again~ WAY TO GO!  


We want you to continue to benefit from your cleanse and the best way to do this is by easing out of your cleanse properly. So don't be in a rush to go back to your old way of eating~ in fact, please don't go back!  You started a cleanse because you wanted to be healthier and feel better, so be mindful of what you choose to eat and drink.  This is the time for you to set some new goals and make positive changes!  You've Got This!


Think COLOR!  Those first few days after your cleanse, you will want to continue to consume lots of green and colorful veggies as well as fruit.  Beginning your day with a juice is a great way to nourish your body.  Follow it up with a nice smoothie, power packed salad, and a nice warm soup.  You'll want to wait a few days before you add meat and dairy back to your diet.  Listen to your body as you re-introduce these foods ~ you may find your body doesn't necesarily like certain foods or you may realize you feel full sooner than you once thought.
